My desire and commitment to maintain a blog has been questioned as my time has been squeezed but a chance re-direct back to my blog got me thinking I should write something new…

… And this week goings-on have been better than most and certainly worth sharing

I’ve been involved with freecycle this week which has lead to a number of interesting co-incidences. Freecycle is a very simple website that allows people to give away things they dont need. This makes sense more than ever now, which all the shit to do with the economy and all – its the ultimate recycling tool. I picked up a Gaggia coffee machine yesterday. All be it being the best part of 20 yrs old, it’s built well and with a bit of elbow greese and one or two parts (perhaps) I can be the proud owner of quality piece of kit for free.

Aside from the material gain in this instance freecycle gives and gives. Although I have only been involved recently it gives you a chance to meet new people in your area who share a similar life ethos. It is kind, if you dont need something then someone else might. No egos. Only generosity and appreciation exist at freecycle. After all if it doesnt work, it’s free – just get rid of it.

Co-incidences? Yep, are they meant to be or are they really ‘co-incidences’, thats a debate for a different day. but this week through freecycle I have come into contact with someone who could help through work and another who I’d attended an event they organised but didnt know they had, so at least retrospectively I could say thanks!

Good karma has prevailed from these meetings and I am confident more beneficial co-incidence will emerge from freecycle sharing.

Some pretty forward thinking people then?! Well, yes, this group of people are looking forward with a mix of excitement and apprehension, never before have so many or has it been so easy for people to work so freely, get paid for just what is going on in their head or combine ‘work’ with play so neatly.

Conversations therefore lent towards the hypothetical, the crazy and ingenious, the Social Media Club offers a great space where these new ideas can build. cheers Lloyd.

Personally, it was lovely to see Mirera again who was present at our Mobile Marketing seminar with 02 and has introduced me to qik (see the intro to yesterdays meeting) , which I just love and am endeavouring to identify an avenue into my clients business strategy. It was also great to speak to Rob at Qype and I’m sure we will be in touch soon re. UGC for destinations (that’s what we (FOX KALOMASKI – MOVING MILLIONS) do, get people to places, countries, shopping areas, resorts, regions) to improve our brands communication channels with local business’. Very exciting.

And a quick shout to unltd world which sounds like an interesting proposition where resources such as web developers can be found depending on your requirements, and also based on your preferences a’la Last FM.

Just spent the last week Snowboarding in Livigno in Italy. The 5 hr transfer from the airport is a pain but actually well worth it! The resort due to its distance from a major airports makes it a hidden secret. Perhaps that is why the people are so friendly – really very very friendly. However it would be very welcome if the holiday companies could move the flight times to late morning/early afternoon to save 2.30am starts to either end of your holiday! is this not possible?

Livigno being so high up in the Alps retains good snow conditions throughout the season and last week the snow was good. We received some welcome fresh Powder (it snowed all day) on our first day (Sunday) and our last (friday). The 4 days inbetween were glorious blue skies – although due to Livigno elevation it was generally very cold, around -5 to -10 in the day in the village. The cold was only too cold on one of the days which gave us an excuse to have an early finish and hit the cheesy euro apres ski – you’ve got laugh havent you!

Dealers Choice is being shown currently at the Trafalgar Studios in central London.

This play was recomended to me when I couldnt get tickets to Speed the Plow at the Old Vic – which I only wanted to see because of the prescence of Kevin Spacey. Glad I missed you actually Kev because Dealers Choice was fantastic. Patrick Marber obiously loves to write about relationships and obsessions as he has with Notes on a Scandal and Closer. The chracters in this witty play each struggle against their own individual vices in their own ways.

The 6 leads hold your attention in the back drop of this local restaurant obsessed with their small time Sunday night poker game. Each of them have their different ambitions

Just left the Renoir cinema (Russel Sq.) having seen Water Lillies for free thanks to time out and my mate Dave. My expectations were mixed, I knew the film focussed on 15 year old girls and synchronised swimming. Being french the film leaned towards the strange, abstract and perverse. But I guess thats the English in me speaking, if I was French it would be seen as a popcorn flick I guess.

First kisses, lesbian love and dealing with ones changing pubescent body are all strong themes. The issues are harsh but relevant to us all. We can all relate quite easily to our own teenage years, memories we left well behind are unearthed, its quite inigierating! Worth a watch!

I was really looking forward to seeing Michael Clayton after hearing of the film’s sucess at many of the awards recently. I wasnt disappointed either, the film is a slow burner though, at no point does it serve up all the answers, quite the opposite in fact, it remains mystical and intriging throughout waiting for the right moment to spring you the answers. George Clooney’s character struggles with his bigger purpose throughout but ultimately does the right thing. The ending is quality however, the comparitively explosive finale is well worth the wait. very enjoyable!

 It’s been a long time coming, but hey Spurs have once again bagged themselves some silverware.The result was great, the game was ok. Who cares though, I was there to the see the mighty Spurs demolish (ahem) Chelsea. Spurs had much the better play leaving Chelsea to mope around for 120mins. 

Wembley finally had atmosphere, bags of it, mainly due to the Spurs fans (of course), in particular down to little Kim, who sung her heart out, great to the place swaying with enthisasm and exuberance
