Yid army
It’s been a long time coming, but hey Spurs have once again bagged themselves some silverware. The result was great, the game was ok. Who cares though, I was there to the see the mighty Spurs demolish (ahem) Chelsea. Spurs had much the better play leaving Chelsea to mope around for 120mins.
Wembley finally had atmosphere, bags of it, mainly due to the Spurs fans (of course), in particular down to little Kim, who sung her heart out, great to the place swaying with enthisasm and exuberance

Simple things make a difference
Life goes up and down! This morning was down. But on the train, which normally is very uneventful, something happened, sitting down next to a smiley 30 something black woman her attitude impacted upon me. She smiled as I sat down and so I decided to be polite, it was hot so rather than assuming I had the right to just open the window I asked her, yes spoke to someone on the train. Little esle was said on our journey, but when I sneezed she said bless you, I said thank you and from this I began to rather like the person I was sat next to. On waiting to exit the train at Victoria she did not rush, push or jostle, but politely passed comment on the rat race of scurrying and pushing that surrounded us. This lady made me feel uplifted and made me promise to myself that I would be selfless and benevolent for the rest of the day. I am not religious but on entering the tube I felt oddly at peace – much more than I had the previous day and that morning.
To the random black lady sat next to me this morning, thank you.
Re-build Crystal Palace
Out in crystal palace (we live here so not that weird) this afternoon and walked past this exhibition to rebuild the Crystal Palace. They have a really compelling argument to make the new Crystal Palace as a tribute to the glory of the previous building while being a modern ‘destination’ for south london as a host for concerts, museums, snow sports and film. A place of entertainment and showcase for south london. It deseves it and Crystal Palace has such a strong bran name to build upon. Support the cause to reserect a national landmark! Valentines Day – Consumer hype or genuine love?
Forced into the ritual of expending cash on gifts, cards and meals out just because it is Valentines day? Hmmm, you’re not the only one. Sales are rampant, but bulk and unthoughtful buying seems to be the order of the day. Yes, fine, it’s nice to designate a day to show your appreciation for someone, but where does consumer guilt end and real passion take over. I say do what you feel is right and resist what the man wants you to do… Paperchase was very busy today with last minute gift hunters…
N95 8GB – Tip
Just realised that if you are surfing the net on your N95 8GB in the phones original browser you can activate a shortcut menu by pressing and holding the select button on the centre of the joypad. This menu offers you your website history, page overview, refresh and search all on top of the screen you are looking at – no need to jump out of the browser!

Cloverfield
John, Lucy and I saw Cloverfield last night with high expectations. Not least Lucy and I due to our recent love and completion of Lost season 3, we hoped JJ Abrams was going to do us proud with the production of Cloverfield. Admittedly it was a slick film, although one that left you feeling nausea after 10 mins of enduring the hand-held filming style. The plot begins to unfold quickly and within the first 30mins it is quite obvious what it is attacking New York. However, the lame plot really does not develop further on either the part of the humans nor the beast. Intrigue into any of the characters is kept superficial while the adventure across town is simply ludicrous, failing to be enthralling or exciting. Comedy is left down to the plump and shy jock behind the camera.Inevitably, as with Lost’s practice, no definitive answers were offered, but at least the main couple enjoyed their day!Leave this film well alone, for an atmospheric, CGI heavy New York film I would highly recommend I am Legend, Smith is fantastic as usual, the plot offers intelligence and the action and suspense.
Yak or Water Buffalo – what do you think?
From Palace to Palace
15 miles is a bloody long way! Our housemate, Helen, is training for the Paris marathon and I said I’d train with her to give her some moral support on the massive runs but also to challenge myself. I do love a challenge! Yesterday was the first of our big ones – 15 miles. To avoid the depression involved in running in a loop, we decided to run into central London and get the train home. Unfortunately, London isn’t actually that far so rather than just running to Victoria, we had to run via London Bridge, the City, Pal Mall, Hyde Park, all the way back down to Chelsea Bridge and then finally to Victoria station. We spotted a couple of mentalists along the way…In Camberwell, near Kings College Hospital, a guy had obviously fancied a spot of shopping on a Saturday afternoon – he was wandering the streets in his hospital gown, dragging his drip along! People were encouraging us as we dodged the crowds – why do people just STOP right in the middle of the pavement? Grrrr! We saw Trinny on Sloane St, looking very Sloaney, I thought she had her own sense of style! Boring! And foreigners looked at us very strangely, one even started imitating us - have they never seen people run before?! Ha! All in all, really enjoyed being out in the sunshine and although my legs are slightly stiff today, I’m ready for the 18 miler ina couple of weeks…BRING IT ON!
